\"WG_AdCard_1\"<\/a>Hello Everyone!<\/p>\n

Yes…it’s been a while, but I have had other things going on. \u00a0There just isn’t enough time in the day to do it all! But, never fear! \u00a0I have no plans to stop blogging, I just can’t guarantee how often I will be doing it.<\/p>\n

First off, the checklist presently has an issue with the “Recent Price”category. \u00a0I am in the midst of getting it fixed. \u00a0The guide still works fine, but for some reason the code is being rendered differently now than in the past and it is generating an error. \u00a0In the mean time, you can just click on “Choose Display Fields”, uncheck the “Recent Price” box, and hit “Submit”. \u00a0That column will then go away. \u00a0Stay tuned…(editor’s note…the error has been fixed!)<\/em><\/p>\n

I wanted to spend this post giving you all a brief primer on the postcards that can be found at\u00a0the WonderGround Gallery located in\u00a0Downtown Disney in Anaheim, California. \u00a0I do not profess to be an expert on these cards, but I do believe I possess\u00a0a high percentage\u00a0of the cards that have been sold there.<\/p>\n

WonderGround opened it’s doors a few years ago (I don’t know the exact date) and is a Disney owned property. \u00a0It features the art of various Disney artists and sells there work in various formats…from postcards all the way up to large limited edition gicl\u00e9e<\/a>\u00a0canvases.<\/p>\n

\"WG_684312\"<\/a>I personally have 53 unique\u00a0WonderGorund Gallery postcards. \u00a0I suspect that there are at least 10-20\u00a0more…and possibly quite a few more. \u00a0That said…when I look at all the WonderGround cards<\/a>\"\" for sale on eBay…I have almost all of them. \u00a0So…I am guessing there are not more than 60-70 total cards as of this writing.<\/p>\n

The bar code number associated with each card is not printed on the cards themselves. Rather the numbers appear on a price tag label used to seal the plastic sleeve that contains each card. \u00a0The lower numbers I have are\u00a0the cards that are the oldest. \u00a0The highest numbers I
\nhave are the cards I bought most recently. \u00a0This suggests that there is some semblance\u00a0of ascending order in the card numbering…but the numbering scheme itself seems rather random.<\/p>\n

The earliest card I have is numbered \"WG_866709\"<\/a>00006\u00a084312 (“Hipster Mickey” by Jerrod Maruyama<\/a>). \u00a0I bought this sometime in late 2012 or early 2013. \u00a0The most recent card I have is 00008 66709 (“The Fairest One of All” by Shannon Bonatakis<\/a>). \u00a0I purchased this card sometime in May, 2014.<\/p>\n

The two earliest cards in my collection\u00a0a have slightly different back than all the rest. \u00a0The banner on the top back\u00a0says “WonderGround – An Uncommon Gallery”. \u00a0 All the other cards say “WonderGround Gallery”.<\/p>\n

Up until about two months ago (April, 2014), the cards cost $2.95 each. \u00a0Like many things at Disneyland though, the price has gone up. \u00a0The cards now cost $3.45 each.<\/p>\n

\"WG_866709_0001\"<\/a>So there you have it. \u00a0A brief primer on the WonderGround Gallery and it’s postcards. \u00a0I will continue to occasionally feature these cards on the blog as these are the only new cards coming out on a regular basis at the park. \u00a0New postcards of the park proper are rare. \u00a0Facebook, Instagram and all the rest have taken their toll on the postcard as a form of communication!<\/p>\n
