{"id":2339,"date":"2014-03-09T16:30:40","date_gmt":"2014-03-10T00:30:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sundrycollectibles.net\/disneypostcards\/?p=2339"},"modified":"2014-03-09T16:30:40","modified_gmt":"2014-03-10T00:30:40","slug":"la-guerre-des-etoiles-at-euro-disney","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sundrycollectibles.net\/disneypostcards\/la-guerre-des-etoiles-at-euro-disney\/","title":{"rendered":"La Guerre des \u00c9toiles at Euro Disney"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sundrycollectibles.net\/disneypostcards\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/DP-0212.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-2342\" alt=\"DP-0212\" src=\"https:\/\/sundrycollectibles.net\/disneypostcards\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/DP-0212-210x300.jpg\" width=\"210\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sundrycollectibles.net\/disneypostcards\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/DP-0212-210x300.jpg 210w, https:\/\/sundrycollectibles.net\/disneypostcards\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/DP-0212.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 210px) 100vw, 210px\" \/><\/a>I have to confess to being a little distracted lately. \u00a0While working on my own Facebook page that relates to this site, I have also gotten absorbed in a few other Facebook Disney fan pages. \u00a0There are a lot of fan pages out there, but I have been actively participating in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/228249897263866\/\">Vintage Disneyland<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/disneyhistoryinstitute\/\">Disney History Institute<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/67836505683\/\">Walt Disney Family Museum<\/a> pages. \u00a0These are great pages and there is an active following on each. \u00a0So&#8230;check them out. \u00a0If you like what this blog is offering, you will like these Facebook communities as well.<\/p>\n<p>My other distraction lately has been playing the Lego Star Wars video game with my eight year old! \u00a0He loves it&#8230;and when we are not playing baseball, or playing with <a href=\"https:\/\/sundrycollectibles.net\/disneypostcards\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/DP-0215.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-2344\" alt=\"DP-0215\" src=\"https:\/\/sundrycollectibles.net\/disneypostcards\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/DP-0215-210x300.jpg\" width=\"210\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sundrycollectibles.net\/disneypostcards\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/DP-0215-210x300.jpg 210w, https:\/\/sundrycollectibles.net\/disneypostcards\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/DP-0215.jpg 448w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 210px) 100vw, 210px\" \/><\/a>a recently revived slot car set&#8230;we will spend (waste?) some time playing Lego Star Wars. \u00a0In 1977, the year Star Wars came out, I was 10. \u00a0I can&#8217;t imagine being a more perfect age in order to be completely swept away by that fantastical world! \u00a0As you might expect&#8230;I was swept away, to some degree. \u00a0I was a card carrying member of the Star Wars fan club in 1978&#8230;and I still have the card to prove it! \u00a0But that is another story.<\/p>\n<p>Needless to say, the Star Wars phenomenon swept over a lot of other folks too&#8230;and not least of all the folks at Disney. \u00a0<em>Star Tours<\/em>, the first non-Disney themed ride to appear at Disneyland, opened in January, 1987 (only 10 years after the release of the original movie). \u00a0It was a <a href=\"https:\/\/sundrycollectibles.net\/disneypostcards\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/DP-0216.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-2343\" alt=\"DP-0216\" src=\"https:\/\/sundrycollectibles.net\/disneypostcards\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/DP-0216-209x300.jpg\" width=\"209\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sundrycollectibles.net\/disneypostcards\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/DP-0216-209x300.jpg 209w, https:\/\/sundrycollectibles.net\/disneypostcards\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/DP-0216.jpg 447w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 209px) 100vw, 209px\" \/><\/a>huge success, and the same ride was installed at Tokyo Disneyland, Disney&#8217;s Hollywood Studios and\u00a0Disneyland Paris. \u00a0These cards I show here are from Disneyland Paris (aka Euro Disney when the cards were published). \u00a0They\u00a0are part of a set of six cards that can all be seen in the checklist database. \u00a0They number from 00108-00200 thru 00108-00205. \u00a0I have cataloged them as DP-0212 thru DP-0217.<\/p>\n<p>The only original <em>Star Tours<\/em> ride still operating is in Disneyland Paris. \u00a0The other parks have all converted to the equally successful <em>Star Tours &#8211; The Adventures Continue<\/em>. \u00a0And as you are no doubt aware, after a long association with Lucasfilm, Disney bought the Star Wars franchise in October of 2012. \u00a0So&#8230;here&#8217;s to more interesting and fun adventures in the Star Wars universe to come. \u00a0Who knows&#8230;maybe we&#8217;ll get a few new post cards to boot!<\/p>\n<p>Until next time&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have to confess to being a little distracted lately. \u00a0While working on my own Facebook page that relates to this site, I have also gotten absorbed in a few other Facebook Disney fan pages. \u00a0There are a lot of &hellip;
