{"id":140,"date":"2012-08-26T05:07:26","date_gmt":"2012-08-26T05:07:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/disneypostcards.com\/?p=140"},"modified":"2012-08-26T23:32:53","modified_gmt":"2012-08-26T23:32:53","slug":"jumbo-main-street-u-s-a-postcard-j-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sundrycollectibles.net\/disneypostcards\/jumbo-main-street-u-s-a-postcard-j-1\/","title":{"rendered":"Jumbo Main Street U.S.A Postcard J-1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When I first stumbled across a set of old Disney postcards at an estate sale about 10 years ago, I bought them\u00a0because\u00a0I thought they were interesting and because I figured they might have some value. \u00a0The set was made up of a number of Jumbo cards and some other regular sized chrome cards.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/disneypostcards.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/J-1_Jumbo_Mainstreet.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-141 aligncenter\" title=\"J-1_Jumbo_Mainstreet\" src=\"http:\/\/disneypostcards.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/J-1_Jumbo_Mainstreet.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"429\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sundrycollectibles.net\/disneypostcards\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/J-1_Jumbo_Mainstreet.jpg 640w, https:\/\/sundrycollectibles.net\/disneypostcards\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/J-1_Jumbo_Mainstreet-300x201.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">At the time I was more interested in the value of the cards and I didn&#8217;t plan on keeping them. \u00a0But I didn&#8217;t know &#8220;boo&#8221; about these things so I went around to some local dealers and asked questions. \u00a0One of the guys (he was in a shop that I think is long gone now), said, &#8220;Oh&#8230;Jumbo&#8217;s, those are worth something&#8221;. \u00a0Eventually I found the Nickel Tour book, read through that, saw a few sales on eBay&#8230;and then (unfortunately) sold all the cards from that lot.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/disneypostcards.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/J-1_Jumbo_Mainstreet_0001.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-142\" title=\"J-1_Jumbo_Mainstreet_0001\" src=\"http:\/\/disneypostcards.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/J-1_Jumbo_Mainstreet_0001.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"428\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sundrycollectibles.net\/disneypostcards\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/J-1_Jumbo_Mainstreet_0001.jpg 640w, https:\/\/sundrycollectibles.net\/disneypostcards\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/J-1_Jumbo_Mainstreet_0001-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ever since then I have been recovering Jumbo cards that I had in that lot&#8230;and also acquiring ones I didn&#8217;t have. \u00a0This is one such card. \u00a0It is not common, at least not on eBay. \u00a0So when one popped up last week I had to get it. \u00a0A rather rare card&#8230;and some great shots of Main Street, U.S.A. !<\/p>\n<p>Until next time&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When I first stumbled across a set of old Disney postcards at an estate sale about 10 years ago, I bought them\u00a0because\u00a0I thought they were interesting and because I figured they might have some value. \u00a0The set was made up &hellip;
